Lots of stuff has been going on. On June 6th, Alison and Samantha had their last county gymnastics competition. It was a long day, Sami's group started at 8am, Alison's t 9:30 and the results were at 5:30pm. I was judging all day, so it went by pretty fast. Sami did pretty well -- no falls, but so small mistakes. Alison did really well. After watching the girls I knew there was going to have tears at the end of the day, and I was right. Alison won gold medal and has the official title of "Championne de Vendée" and poor Sami didn't place. It was a hard life lesson to learn. She so wants to be better than Alison but forgets that she is three years younger. Her coach told me that Sami will go far and has been progressing a lot because she soooooo wants to beat her sister.
Last week we had a 13 year old Slovak stay with us. She spoke NO French and only very basic English. It was hard to communicate, but once we started using an online instant translater, things got easier. Alison loved having her, and we might do it again next year. She brought brochures about her country and it looks so beautiful, mountains, castles . . . Here is a picture of the girls with Kiya just before she left
A couple weekends ago the fire depratement had an openhouse and they asked if I would take pictures of the kids dressed up in the firefighter gear. Of coarse my kids didn't want to do it -- Alison finally let me take a picture of her and at the end of the afternoon so did Leïla, but Sami was not having it -- she was having too much fun hanging out with her friends.
Still a lot of work here -- if you check out my biz blog and scroll down a little you can see the sneak peak from my friend Sarah's baby's newborn session. At the beginning of next week I will be post my latest bridal session, but can't show any until the wedding is over (Sat). Oh and I will probably have some twin pictures to share since I will be babaysitting them Sat afternoon/night and Sunday Morning. And just waiting on my niece to make her grand entrance -- my sister-in-law is offically 10 days overdue!
